Why can't I use multiple vendor feeds with your software.
All of my software only supports one vendor feed at a time, because with multiple vendors you have multiple shipping fees, plus not all vendors support all shipping methods.
For example take two products from two different vendors:
CNVELD-PD2919-00
Vendor ELD
Wholesale Price: $15.96
Suggested Price: $25.08
UPS 2nd Day Air: $25.00
SE9751-14
Vendor MC
Wholesale Price: $20.40
Suggested Price: $32.05
UPS 2nd Day Air: $22.00
$25.08 ELD Suggested Price
+$32.05 MC Suggested Price
= $57.13 Total income
$15.96 ELD WS Price
+$20.40 MC WS Price
= $36.36 Total Product price.
$57.13 Total charged customer
- $36.36 Total STC charges you.
= $20.77 Total Profit
Shopping cart collects one Shipping fee for say the highest vendor ELD for the amount of $25.00, but the cart doesn’t collect for the other vendor because the shopping carts my software are developed for do not support multiple vendors and multiple origins for products.
$22.00 UPS 2nd day air for MC
- 20.77 Previous Profit.
= -$1.23 < - - - Out of Pocket expense for this order. Not very cost effective is it?
Also say you're primary Vendor is ELD and you’ve setup your shopping cart to use FedEx as a shipping method, now if you add MC to the database and your customer wants to use FedEx for their order. MC doesn’t support FedEx, you have to explain to the customer why they can not have FedEx when it’s listed on your web site.
As you can see it’s not very good idea to use multiple vendors on one web site. If you want to sell from multiple vendors the best way is to have multiple web sites each dedicated to a specific vendor. This way you avoid any orders that can have multiple shipping fees or shipping method conflicts.
